There are lots of different basic trainings available but in this blog we focus on Finnish TVA Occupational safety training and Occupational safety card training.

TVA Occupational Safety Training focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge to conduct and organize work in shared workplaces. Its primary goal is to introduce Finnish regulations, improve cooperation and enhance safety in shared workplaces.

Course Details:

– Format: primarily eLearning, (but can be also organized as a webinar or classroom training for groups)

– Duration: Approximately 5 hours and exam

– Certificate: Participants receive a certificate upon passing the test at the end of the eLearning training

– Valid: TVA Occupational Safety Training is valid for 5 years

– Content: The course content is derived from 20 years of safety training expertise, encompassing essential topics on occupational safety,induction, occupational safety regulations in Finland, industrial hazards such as hot works, electrical safety, lifting safety, forklift and truck safety, mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) safety, working in confined spaces, handling chemicals as well as emergency preparedness including information on evacuation, usage of fire extinguishers and first aid. Content takes into account the industrial standard PSK 6803

– Flexibility: Participants can complete the training at their own pace and convenience. Courses can be taken from any location and at any time best suitable for the participant. Does not require a group to organize a training.  Course fee is quite inexpensive as individual pricing in an eLearning is possible. 

– Broad Expertise: The course leverages extensive experience from over 2,000 safety training sessions for international audiences. 

– Comprehensive Content: It introduces participants to the critical safety regulations and requirements specific to Finland.

Occupational Safety Card Training

Overview:

The Occupational Safety Card Training, also known as the Green Card Training, is trademarked by the Center of Occupational Safety and follows their guidelines and regulations. This training is very well known and many large industrial companies require this card from their employees and subcontractors, although it is not legally mandated.

Course Details:

– Format: Classroom, webinar or hybrid training

– Duration: 7 hours plus an exam. Time frame is binding. Also supplementary course of 4 hours is available for people who have a valid Occupational safety card and need to renew it before it expires

– Certificate: Participants receive an Occupational Safety Card upon successful completion.

– Valid: Occupational Safety Card aka Green Card is valid for 5 years.

– Content: The course includes lessons on working in shared workplaces, safety issues, responsibilities, risk management, and procedures. It features group exercises and requires full attendance.

Advantages:

– Industry Recognition: The Occupational Safety Card is recognized by many large industrial companies, enhancing employability in these sectors.

– Detailed Instruction: The training offers a thorough introduction to occupational safety matters, providing a solid foundation for site-specific inductions.

   – TVA Occupational Safety Training: Concludes with an instant certificate right away after examination is approved. Certificate in a card format also possible.

   – Occupational Safety Card Training: Results in an Occupational Safety Card, which is often required by large industrial employers.

2. Duration:

   – Occupational Safety Training: Depends on the pace of the participant but approximately 5 hours plus an exam.

   – Occupational Safety Card Training: Minimum 7 hours plus an exam (refresher course 4 hours plus an exam).

   – TVA Occupational Safety Training: Can be completed at the participant’s own pace online.

   – Occupational Safety Card Training: Requires full-day attendance for classroom and webinar sessions
